This course is for anyone seeking to further his or her interpersonal communication skills. The aims of this course include:
•Developing self-awareness of how communication choices impact effective communication and
•Developing a plan detailing how each person can become more effective when communicating
A pre-course questionnaire will provide delegates with an actual baseline of existing communication choices. The information from the questionnaire will then be used with theories, discussions, and tools presented in class to develop a tailored personal plan. This course involves understanding how to prepare for communication, what happens internally when we communicate and what we can do about it, how to check our understanding and avoid dissonance. We will also cover aspects of communication that are influenced by acceptance, humility and vulnerability and examine how these phenomena impact our effectiveness to understand others and to be understood.
This course will assist a realistic self-awareness of how communication choices impact effectiveness and will provide some tools to facilitate you to communicate effectively.
Delegates are required to complete a Pario Pre-Course 360° Feedback Questionnaire. Delegates will receive full instructions one month prior to the course outlining the steps required. The questions are based solely on communication choices. Delegates will need twenty minutes to complete the questionnaire themselves. In addition, delegates will also choose to send the questionnaire to as many as thirty people that they work with. The results of the pre-course questionnaire are individual to each delegate and are kept confidential.
